Dress Code: Formal

What does “formal” mean for this wedding?

Our ceremony begins at 3:30pm on April 24th. We invite guests to dress in formal attire that feels romantic, refined, and timeless, while still being comfortable for a spring celebration.

What dress lengths are appropriate?

Floor-length gowns are preferred

Midi or tea-length dresses are also welcome

We kindly ask that guests avoid short or mini dresses

What silhouettes feel most appropriate?

To complement the elegance of the day, we encourage flowy, structured, or tailored silhouettes. We ask guests to please avoid short body-con or tight, club-style dresses in favor of a more classic, polished look.

Are slits, open backs, or strapless styles okay?

Yes—these details can be absolutely stunning. We just ask that they remain tasteful and appropriate for a formal, late-afternoon/evening event.

What colors work best for a spring formal wedding?

Spring-friendly tones are encouraged. Think soft neutrals, romantic pastels, jewel tones, or muted florals. Both lighter hues and richer colors are welcome, as long as they maintain a refined, elegant feel.

What fabrics photograph and wear best?

Formal attire typically features elevated materials like satin, silk, chiffon, crepe, velvet, or dresses with subtle embellishments. We recommend avoiding very casual fabrics.

What about the weather?

Late April weather can be unpredictable. We suggest bringing a light wrap, shawl, or jacket that complements your formal look, especially for outdoor moments or cooler evening temperatures.

What should guests wear if they’re not wearing a dress?

A dark or neutral suit is a wonderful choice, and a tuxedo is also welcome. Please complete the look with dress shoes for a polished finish
